Our Employees
Independent Professional Services is a family owned business. The company has been run by its present owner, Gerald
Newlon, for over 27 years. His sons, Gregory and Geoffrey Newlon now assist him in the business. Gregory has been
assisting for 17 years, while Geoffrey has been assisting for 12 years.
Our Company
Independent Professional Services was originally a mortuary transportation service that was purchased in 1982. The I.P.S.
company held a transportation contract with the Utah State Medical Examiner. In 1987, I.P.S. expanded and moved into it's
new building on Redwood Road and began offering cremation services. Today, our company continues to provide cremation services
for families who lost loved ones, along with transportation services for both the State Medical Examiner and University of
Utah Body Donor Program.
